As car park staff, you may unwittingly come across vulnerable young people who are struggling with thoughts of suicide.

This Awareness Session is an introductory course which aims to increase awareness of the prevalence of suicide. Throughout the session, we will explore the stigma and taboo surrounding suicide, and discuss the language we use as a general population when talking about suicide.

You will gain a greater awareness about PAPYRUS and HOPELINEUK and how our services can support you and individuals you encounter.

You will also find out about further training available from PAPYRUS, including information on suicide intervention training.

This workshop is intended to provide the audience with an understanding of the requirements imposed by the 12 Guiding Principles of the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice and, for those that wish to achieve Certification against that Code, the process itself and how best to prepare.

The workshop will include an explanation of what surveillance camera systems are covered by the Code and how justification for the use of these may be evidenced. It will identify key elements to consider when deploying specific systems such as ANPR and Body Worn Video, as well as explaining the requirements of Data Protection Impact Assessments. The audience will be provided with worked examples of key documents and websites where Good Practice against the Code of Practice has previously been identified.

The workshop will include a Q&A session, however, if any delegate has a specific issue related to the Code of Practice they would wish to have included in the workshop then email the speaker, Stephen Grieve in advance at stephen.grieve@ssaib.co.uk
